Quick & easy rug care
We understand custom rugs can be a huge investment and no one wants to put a lot of money into something they’re not sure will last. Good thing Boundless’s rugs are made with nylon, one of the most widely used materials for rugs due to their durability. Boundless’s nylon rugs are resilient, have good texture retention and handle foot traffic like a champ.
Here are some tips to keep your Boundless Rugs in the best condition:
1. Stains | Blotting
- Whether it’s your living room rug, kitchen rug or hallway rug, it’s bound to get a stain here or there. Cleaning stains should be done as soon as possible as nylon is highly absorbent, but stains will come out with minimal effort. All you need is hot water, clean cloths, paper towels, and liquid dishwashing detergent.
- Directions: Add (1/4) teaspoon liquid dishwashing detergent to 1 cup warm water. With a clean cloth, apply the solution to the stained area and let it soak about 5 minutes. Rinse with clean warm water and blot to remove excess moisture. Repeat until all detergent is removed to avoid re-soiling. Repeat steps if stain still remains.
2. Revival | Steam Clean
- Nylon holds up to getting walked on over and over again, and has good longevity. If you do notice that your rug is getting a little worn down, it is recommended to use steam cleaning. Our customizable area rugs are meant to be walked on and used, but steam cleaning once a year or every other year keeps them extra fresh and plush!
- The more you know: nylon’s chemical structure contains a hydrogen molecule that can be easily revived by the hot water extraction that steam cleaning offers which will help revive those high traffic flat spots. Basically, it acts as a facial for your rug.
